Parts Advisor Scheme (14 Weeks over 3 years)
Benefits
This Scheme lasts 3 years, and the benefits to your Centre after each year are:
- On completion of their first year, Apprentices will be fully conversant with basic techniques such as Just-in-Time and Level Ordering systems, also procedures for accepting and dispatching stock, and parts pre-picking. They will also be proficient in the use of the Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC 2) and AS400 Parts Ordering systems.
- By the end of the second year, Apprentices will have advanced through the basics of customer handling techniques to the more intricate skills of identifying customer needs, completing a sale and creating effective parts and accessory display areas. They will also understand and be able to submit warranty claims and have achieved their NVQ Level 2 certificate.
- At graduation, Apprentices are fully qualified Toyota Approved Parts Advisors with NVQ Level 3. They will be fully conversant with the day-to-day operation of the Parts Department.
Education
The Parts Advisor Scheme is a combination of theoretical training and practical skills testing at our National Training Centre, and workplace assessments.

- Vehicle Familiarisation
- Parts Interpretation & Administration
- Warranty Administration
- Advanced Customer Handling (After Sales)
- Introduction to After Sales Finance
Qualifications
Upon completion of the 3 year Scheme, Parts Advisor Apprentices will be awarded the following qualifications:
- IMI Technical Certificate
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Parts Distribution & Supply
- Toyota Approved Parts Advisor
- Key Skills Certificate
- Advanced Apprenticeship Certificate
